STEPS

Kick Off Meeting in France - Marseille

The Cie ESSEVESSE organised the first meeting of the  HeArts of Youth project at the Friche Belle de Mai , with the participation of the project partners, and the support of the BNM (Ballet National de Marseille), Marseille.

It was the opportunity to test the methodology of the dance therapists from the Cie Essevesse and art therapist from The Red Pencil, and plan the next activities for the implementation of the project.

Transnational Meeting in Cyprus - Nicosia

The project continues in Cyprus with our partners Hope For Children, who welcomed us for the second transnational meeting.
 
On this occasion, we invited youth workers working with young migrants to identify and understand their needs and those they have identified with their groups when they run workshops/activities.
 
The art and dance therapists from The Red Pencil and Cie Essevesse organised discovery workshops and prepared a creative programme and role-playing exercises to identify and discuss these needs.
 
This stage will enable us to prepare the training that we will be putting in place for anyone working with young migrants and wishing to use creative tools with their groups.

Collection of methodologies of dance/art therapy with young migrants

We are pleased to share with you our research on existing and tangible methodologies on the internet, freely available, on the use of dance and art therapy with young migrants worldwide.
 
This invaluable document serves as a precursor to our reflections on the content of the Training Booklet that will be prepared for our next event:

Training for trainers in Italy - Palermo

The consortium met in Palermo so that dance/art therapists from Cie Essevesse and Red Pencil could train the partners in the 6 workshops designed for the HeArts of Youth program.
 
This allowed to refine and consolidate the first version of the Booklet – HeArts of Youth and to film the attached video tutorials.
 
Subsequently, each partner will have to train at least 10 youth workers working with young migrants to test the workshops in their countries.
 
Period: 24 – 28/06/2024

Training in France - Marseille

Our art/dance therapists, Fabio and Antonino, trained 14 professionals working with migrants in the HeArts of Youth training program.
Skills covered:
  • how to create a safe space;
  • posture to adopt;
  • how to stimulate creativity (in dance and art);
  • content of the 6 workshops.
It’s their turn now:
they will offer the 6 workshops to groups of young migrants in order to measure the impact of the program.
