DANCE AGAINST BULLYING AT SCHOOL

Since 2019 Fabio and Antonino have been working on the development of a dance programme that can contribute to the FIGHT AGAINST BULLYING.

This is intended as a complementary tool to what the state and institutions are putting in place in schools, colleges and lycées, such as the PHARE PROGRAMME.

This desire began with the European project DAB – DANCE AGAINST BULLYING, through which we developed a free online training course for anyone working with young people.

Today, our work is expanding throughout the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, with the workshops we have designed being constantly adapted to suit the target audience.

.

OBJECTIVES

  • Using a prevention method to combat bullying and harassment among young people;
  • Make young people aware of the roles involved in a bullying situation;
  • Make them aware of the emotions involved in each role;
  • Encourage them to express their emotions, first non-verbally and then verbally (when possible);
  • Promote non-stigmatisation of the bully;
  • Promote the use of dance as a tool in the fight against bullying;
  • Promote the values of inclusion, non-discrimination and equity;
  • Promote non-formal education methods;
  • Strengthen cooperation between educational institutions and artists.

Short movie/documentary & Photos Exhibition

In order to maximize the number of young people reached and further develop the action in the years to come, we are documenting the work that will be carried out in the 12 high schools through a short documentary film and a photo exhibition.

The short film will be presented at dance, youth and discriminatory violence film festivals.

The exhibition will be offered in the participating establishments as well as at any appropriate occasion.

This will allow greater visibility of the action as well as an opportunity to inspire other establishments and artists to participate in the fight against harassment.
