As part of the European project TRANScenDANCE, we are launching a call for applications for a free training programme aimed at performing arts professionals in Marseille and surrounding areas.
This training is designed to equip artists, educators, and creators with practical tools to make their practices more inclusive and accessible to trans and non-binary people, while actively encouraging their participation in artistic processes.
Who is this training for?
Choreographers
Stage artists
Directors
Actors/Actresses
Dance, theatre, or other performing arts teachers
Art/Dance therapists
More broadly, any professional working in the performing arts
Objectives
Understand the realities and challenges faced by trans and non-binary people in the arts sector
Adapt work and creative methods for greater inclusivity
Create safe and respectful working and performance environments
Discover participatory methodologies inspired by performing arts and dance
Practical information
Dates: 11, 18, 19, 25 and 26 October 2025
Location: Marseille
- Studio de Yoga Perrier (October 11 | 11am-6pm)
- Accrorap Studio – La Friche (18,19,25,26 October | 10am-5pm)
- Duration: 5 days (attendance required for all dates)
Cost: Free – funded by the European Union as part of TRANScenDANCE
Number of participants: Maximum 15 (selection based on application)
With the participation of Transat Association, Trans & Non-Binairy Artists, alongside Fabio and Antonino from cie essevesse.
A space for sharing
Participants’ own practices will also be welcome to enrich the content of the training.
Artistic continuation
Participants will have the opportunity to be integrated into the creative process of a collective performance, to be presented between May and August 2026 in Marseille, involving members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.

TRANScenDANCE is a European project dedicated to training, creation, and dissemination of works involving the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly trans and non-binary people. Our goal is to make performing arts more inclusive, accessible, and representative of human diversity.
Important: Although the training itself is free, a €20 membership fee to the association is required for insurance purposes.
