Lifelong Dancing – Learning Pathways About Dance for Adult Educators is an Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership project co-funded by the European Commission.
It aims to develop innovative educational programs that utilize dance as a transformative tool in adult education, especially for individuals with fewer opportunities.
Project Vision
The project seeks to enhance the quality of adult education by integrating formal, non-formal, and digital methodologies. By leveraging dance and movement, it promotes self-awareness, self-esteem, and holistic well-being among diverse groups, including:
- Individuals with physical disabilities
- Migrants and refugees
- People experiencing psychological or emotional challenges
- The LGBTQIA+ community
- Residents of rural or remote areas
Dance serves as a universal language, fostering social inclusion and personal growth across cultures and backgrounds.
Consortium Partners
The project brings together five organizations from different countries, each contributing unique expertise:
- Aspaym – coordinators (Spain): Advocates for individuals with physical disabilities, focusing on improving quality of life.
- CEIPES (Italy): Supports sustainable community development and empowerment through education, targeting migrants and refugees.
- Gamma Institute (Romania): Specializes in psychology and mental health, working with individuals facing psychological and emotional difficulties.
- Cie Essevesse (France): A cultural association experienced in using dance for social engagement, focusing on the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Euni Partners (Bulgaria): Works extensively with individuals from rural areas and those facing learning difficulties or disabilities.
Key Outputs
The Lifelong Dancing project has developed several resources to support adult educators:
- Manual for Adult Educators: Provides theoretical frameworks and practical guidance on incorporating dance and movement therapies into adult education.
- Dance and Movement Workshops: Conducted with target groups to assess the effectiveness of dance-based activities in adult learning.
- E-Learning Platform: An online resource offering training materials, video tutorials, and documentation to support educators and organizations.
- Training Kit for Educators: A collection of concrete programs for dance and movement sessions tailored to specific groups, such as migrants, individuals with disabilities, and those with psychological challenges.
These resources aim to professionalize adult educators and expand the capacity of organizations to deliver inclusive, dance-based educational activities.
Lasting Impact
Through comprehensive training and resource development, Lifelong Dancing equips adult educators with the tools to facilitate dance activities for diverse groups. The project’s methodology combines art therapy, non-formal education, and adult learning principles to enhance the quality of life for participants, regardless of cultural or social status.
All project materials remain accessible post-completion, ensuring sustainability and ongoing impact in the field of adult education.
