Feedback: DANSES-EN-TRANS #5 – A Vibrant Evening of Visibility, Art & Pride

On May 17, 2025, for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, Compagnie Essevesse hosted the 5th edition of DANSES-EN-TRANS at Théâtre du HangArt in Marseille.

🎭 This artistic and activist event gathered 50 attendees for a powerful evening of trans and non-binary performances, open stage moments, poetic interventions, and presentations of inclusive European projects.

🟣 Objectives:

  • Celebrate trans and non-binary identities
  • Offer a caring space for expression and visibility
  • Highlight European projects such as TRANScenDANCE, Move to Connect, and HeArts of Youth

🎤 Powerful performances like “Tout va bien” by Loélia Essadi and “Un câlin sous la main” by Lou Pioupiou moved the audience deeply.

📊 Anonymous audience data revealed a beautifully diverse crowd: mostly LGBTQIA+ individuals but also curious cis-het participants, artists, and cultural professionals.

😊 Final feedback was overwhelmingly positive: nearly everyone felt that this kind of event truly helps combat transphobia and fosters human connection.

📌 Looking ahead: more communication and stronger European networking among trans/NB artists.

💜 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this evening a unique moment of visibility, tenderness, and collective empowerment.

This event was the second initiative organized by Cie Essevesse to promote the activities of the TRANScenDANCE EU project, spark interest in its upcoming phases, and raise awareness among the broader public about trans issues. Through artistic and educational actions, the company continues to foster inclusion and empowerment for trans and non-binary communities across Europe.
